Song: Kisamat Bigadi Duniya Badali (2), Fir Kaun Kisi Ka
Hota Hai
Ai Duniyawaalon Sach Hi Kaho, Kya Pyaar Bhi Zuta
Hota Hai

        Film: Afsaana (1951)
        Music: Pt. Husnalal Bhagatram
        Lyrics: Asad Bhopali
        Singer: Mukesh
*ing: Ashok Kumar, Veena, Jeevan, Kuldeep

To my knowledge Pt. Husnalal Bhagatram asked Mukesh only once to
sing a song (A solo number). I suppose it's the most famous song
of the film. As usual there is Rafi song in this film too; he
sings 'Duniya Ek Kahani Re Bhaiya Duniya Ek Kahani'. But this
Mukesh song is perhaps the peak of all songs. Of course, there is
Lata Mangeshkar singing few very good songs:
Wo Aye Baharen Laaye Baje Shehnaai
Rut Piya Milan Ki Aai, Rut Piya Milan Ki Aai and
Wo Paas Bhi Rehakar Paas Nahi, Ham Dur Bhi Rehkar Dur
Nahi

These two songs deserves ATMJH berth. Extremely good songs. There
is one good song in 'Aaj Kuchh Aisi Chot Lagi Hai Tut Gaya
Paimana Dil Ka Tut Gaya Paimana'. And before I conclude let me
add that there is one more Lata number, an OK type, - 'Kahan Hai
Tu Mere Sapanon Ke Raja, Jawani Aa Gayi Hai'

But as I wrote above, the jewel in the crown is this Mukesh song.
To my surprise HMV's 2 cassette pack collection on Husnalal
Bhagatram includes a Part II of it! Which is just one stanza.
But I must admit, that it's a rare one and not available on 78
rpm too. For this song, credit should also go to lyricist - Asad
Bhopali who has penned some excellent poetry. Particularly the
following one:
'Jab Bura Zamana Aata Hai Saya Bhi Juda Ho Jata Hai
Wo Dil Par Chot Lagata Hai Jo Dil Ko Pyara Hota
Hai'

is a masterpiece. All the songs except one were by him. The only
non-Asad Bhopali song is by Gafil Harnaalvi which is the title of
this series!
