----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Answers and results of Mukesh RJGK-40 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Snehal B. Oza" Subject: RJGK 40 Results and Answers (Post I) Date: Wed, 19 Nov 1997 15:12:33 +0530 (IST) R(m)im Jhim Geeton Ki - 40 : The Inimitable Mukesh Thanks to everyone who participated in the quiz. This quiz was hosted by Snehal Oza and I. I did the solos part and Snehal did the duets parts. The purpose of the quiz was not just to encourage participation, but also to remind people of the gems that are lost in the sands of time. Our effort has been to remind you to make you aware of them so that you would want to look for them. Most people complain about the toughness of the clues. That is to be expected. Most of Mukesh songs are from before 70s and 80s and so are quite forgotten. The fact that we had to overlook Mukesh's duets with Lata to please a certain sub-cult within RMIM, limited our selection of songs. List of participants for this quiz: Richa, Anand, Roomi Renu and Neeraj Ramesh Hariharan Hemlata Khemani MadhuSudan and Anirudha Vish Krishnan Neeraj Malhotra and Prince Kohli Ushnish Basu Nita Awatramani Kuntal Daftary Ambrish Sundaram Srinivas Ganti Rahul Upadhyaya Balaji and Malini Preethi Prabhu and Neeraj Arora Shalini Razdan and Ketan Dholakia Sudeep Amin PreetiRanjan Panda Sami Mohammed Pradeep Dubey Surajit Bose Charu Varshney Vijaykumar Anup Pandey UV Ravindra and Pavan Kumar Desiken Some general comments on the quiz: [Vandana Venkatesan] Very gripping write-up. THe duets sections seemed a little more difficult, but most of them 'seem familiar' and I have to hum them for a longer time to get the mukda. So all in all, difficulty level is okay. [Richa Dubey] Its really a wonderful write up. makes me want to actually listen to mukesh. I have a very stubborn ear which rejects everything except what its used to hearing. alas, i never really cared for Mukesh:( [Anand Tiwari (A very much intimidated, wannabe RJGK participant)] Very very difficult quiz!!!. You have been very inconsiderate to the "masses" and catered only to the "classes". This quiz is for guru's. Every time i decide to become a RJGK regular, one such quiz puts me in my place. Very intimidating. Too few recent ('70s or late '60s) Mukesh songs. I am sure your quiz is a great effort but sadly lack the expertise to savour its taste. Shall try to attempt it though. Please keep people like me in mind (who want to participate but are intimidated by P Stats, Anil Biswas and co and other hi funda stuff). Meri shikaayat ki potli abhi bhi poori tarah khuli nahin hai but i guess generally "aansoo bahri hain, yeh RJGK ki raahen" [Ramesh Hariharan] My RGJK entry won't amount to much since my brain turns "off" when he sings duets...Don't ask me why ? :-) [Hema Khemani] BTW Neha, is there a prize for the least number of correct answers? If there is, I should start getting my pictures taken and interview chalked out for the news you know, because I am sure I am going to bag the award. Oh my God, I have to think about an outfit for the award ceremony too. And the appointment with the beautician and hair dresser.:)) ...... But seriously, once I took a glance at the quiz, I ended up reading it because of the info and thought this is great ..... [Anirudha and Madhusudan] kho gayein hain cassettes, mit gaye hain raastey, gardishein hi gardishein, ab hain mere vaastey, ab hain mere vaastey.. aur aise mein mujhe..RJGK pakda gaya koi.... Phew! That was a tough one! I am sure if Mukesh himself started solving the quiz, he would have a hard time :-) [Pankha Road se Pintu Diwana] In your clues, the descriptions don't help much to solve the quiz. Thye are nice and informative and fun to read, but I think in the process you might have forgotten to include some hints to help solve the quiz. Otherwise, your last section (a, b, c, d, e) is no different from the Solo and Duet sections ! We have different opinion too. (See below.) I think it was a nice experiment. [Vish Krishnan] By not including Lata, you have managed to highlight movies like ANOKHI ADAA, Naushad's best non-Lata performance, in my opinion. You have selected two songs from it, and hinted at a 3rd one. All 3 songs are great. I like the idea of having "clueless" clues. It forces the mind to operate without crutches, so to speak. There IS an implicit crutch though. The song clues all end up rhyming with the main body, and I think that is thoughtful. Without that help, things become much too unbounded. It bothered me a bit that you didn't feature any of Mukesh's own compositions. Good quiz, but lots of complaints. Not including Lata may have been a deliberate thing, but that excludes a large, very large sample of exquisite duets. But that seems to be the mood there. You did the same with the RK-SJ set. Lata's ommision almost made sure that in the duet section we will not have any from SJ-RJ. Otherwise I too am a fan of this set. [U V Ravindra in his first mail] You have selected some really nice and melodious songs of the singer who used to be my favourite before Rafi. I guess I still am a closet Mukesh fan, because I'm humming all these songs to myself as I read the clues, and I can't remember the last time I sang so many beautiful Mukesh songs. :) Thanks for giving me this enjoyable opportunity. Go ahead, use this against me :) We wouldn't want to disappoint you now, would we? [U V Ravindra in his second mail] Wonderfully done, Neha, superb quiz! I especially liked the idea of including the various comments of the people associated with Mukesh along with the songs itself. As many of the RMIMers know (or don't know :) ... Coming back to Mukesh, he will forever remain THE singer who brings back fond memories of my childhood to me. Now, go ahead and use any/all of this against me) Of course! [Nita Awatramani] A very informative quiz. Thanks for the interesting tidbits. I haven't heard much of Mukesh so the quiz wasn't easy for me. My one regret was that you didn't include any songs from Devar. I did get all the solos but the duets had me stumped. :-( [Ambrish and Sharada Sundaram] The quiz, though a bit on the tougher side, did give me a chance to listen to some Bhule Bisre Mukesh songs, especially the duets. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories. [Srinivas Ganti] About RMIM:na tum hame jaano na hum tumhe jaane magar lagtaa hai kuch aisaa ke mera humdum(RMIM)milgayaa I came to U.S in August.Whenever i am homesick/in low spirits I move to RMIM. I think all RMIMers here would relate with you. It is our refuge. [Balaji and Malini] The songs selection is very good. Looks like you have spent quite a while deciding which songs to choose. Most songs likely are favourites of not only Mukesh fans but any listener. 3 songs for S.D.Burman is really excessive. His output with Mukesh was probably the least among the MDs featured. The Mukesh-Suraiya duet "badaraa kii chhaa.Nv tale" from "lekh" is surely better known and more easily accessible than the song from "vidyaa". This would have increased the MD tally. Salil should have had at least one more song. Otherwise the representation seems to be fair, except maybe overrepresetation of Ravi as well, at the expense of LP, maybe? You don't have any LP in the quiz. The song "taaro.n me.n sajake" from "buu.Nd jo ban gayii motii" is a nice one. I thought quiz was on Mukesh and hence music directors were secondary. We never made any attempt to give any kind of "fair" deal to different composers. I considered Lekh song more difficult than Vidya song because of Dev Anand factor. Actually, two songs of Geeta is again probably excessive. You could have probably featured Naseem Akhtar instead of a second Geeta song. There are two very nice Mukesh-Naseem Akhtar duets in "pahalii nazar". But no Though different composers was not considered, for duet secctions I did consider different partners. But my initial selection which included singers like Kamal Barot and Sulochna Kadam was given veto by both of us, for it would add to difficulty level. For the same reason songs like 'Jawani Ye Bharpur Dilkash Adaayen' (my favourite) didn't find any slot. In fact, a full quiz involving "other" singers with Mukesh won't be a bad idea. complaints at all with the rest of the songs. Great selection. All in all, a very nice quiz, accept our congratulations. Next stop, a Mukesh-Lata duets RJGK :), since Lata is missing completely here?. Neha> You got that right buddy! Next quiz that I host would be a Mukesh-Lata duets quiz. Waise to do Lata justice with any co-singer, it requires a entire quiz. [Pradeep Dubey] Neha, it seems you had too many of those 'record-breaking' responses to your quizzes. So you decided this time to be bold and settle without a box-office hit. Else why will you think of so many unheard of 'rona-dhona' songs. Granted, these are not 'monotonous rona-dhona ghazals' of 'ghazal-king' Talat, still why go through all this pain of unearthing them to only inflict more pain on one's soul :-) Just kidding ... [Renu and Neeraj Deshmukh] The snippets of information in the solos section were nice, but the quiz overall was a little on the tough side [Charu Varshney] The clues that you have given (specially for the first few songs) are more like reading short stories which I really enjoyed very much. The duets are particularly hard to crack, mainly because they are very old songs. [Vijaykumar] One comment. Was tough. The change of rules notwithstanding. Also, considering Mukesh' repertoire of 992 songs, included some obscure songs when there were many more famous equally worthy of inclusion. I myself am a fan of film songs from the pre-1955 period, but not everybody is and Mukesh' best work certainly does not fall in that Well, we are in disagreement here! period. In that sense, the quiz does not do full justice to Mukesh by ignoring some of his better songs. Generally speaking, it is difficult to think of Mukesh without thinking of RK Films, and by sticking primarily to non-RK films, you display a good knowledge of Mukesh' ouvre. Neha> You can attribute the knowledge part to Snehal [Anup Pandey] Here's my entry for your great quiz on Mukesh. You have conducted both RJGK and chitrahaar on Mukesh. You should now be bolted out of Rafians and Lata fan club. :). I wish I had more time to spend on your quiz. Your duets section was particularly tough for me, may be I don't like Mukesh in duets. Great selection of his solo songs though. Neha> Both the clubs I belong to, require me to be fair to singers other than Rafi and Lata and appreciate ?other singers? like KK, Asha, Geeta, Mukesh, Hemant, Talat, Manna(but him I cant even if I try) etc. etc.(list is endless) [Razdan, Shalini & Ketan] Here's our entry for RJGK. Thanks for a nice, challenging quiz that was pleasure to read as well as solve. Really liked the song selection - it successfully illustrated Mukesh's talent, versatility and popularity without resorting to the usual 'top 40' types of songs. Great job! Now, let's move on to the answers of the quiz. ------------------------------------------------------------- 1. ham aas lagaye baitthe hain... tum vaada karke bhool gaye... ya soorat aake dikha jao... ya keh do hamko yaad na kar... Song : Dil jaltaa hai to jalne do Film : Pehli Nazar (1945) MD : Anil Biswas Lyricist : Aah Sitapuri Anup Pandey: People may disagree but he did better KLS impersonation then Rafi and KK. ------------------------------------------------------------- 2. dil se mita ulfat ka nishaan... tujhse hamara pyaar kahan... pyaar ka naata tod yahin... geet adhoora chhod yahin... main bhi na gaaun tu bhi na ga... Song : Bhulane waale yaad na aa Film : Anokhee Adaa (1948) MD : Naushad Lyricist : Shakeel Badayuni Pradeep Dubey: (the clue is of no help, or is it? you expect me to get yet another rona-dhona song of Mukesh without any clue :-)) ------------------------------------------------------------ 3. aane ko aa chuka tha kinara bhi saamne... khud uske paas hi meri naiyya gayi nahin... Song : Zindaa hoon is tarah ke Gham-e-Zindagee nahin Film : Aag (1948) MD : Ram Ganguly Lyricist : Behzaad Lucknavi Pradeep Dubey: I think I can recall this one but the bell it is ringing in my head is too faint and of such painful sound type, that I rather not excite it :-) ------------------------------------------------------------- 4. hai teraa vahan kaun sabhi log hain paraaye... pardes ki gardish mein kahin tu bhi kho na jaaye... kaanton bhari dagar hai tu daaman bachaana... Song : O jaanewaale ho sake to laut ke aanaa Film : Bandini (1963) MD : S.D.Burman Lyricist : Shailendra Pradeep Dubey: classical+folk+sad+rare : how hard can it get? What do you think now Pradeep, on knowing the answer? ------------------------------------------------------------- 5. tera koi saath na de to tu khud se preet jod le... bichhauna dharti ko karke arey akaash odh le... poora khel abhi jeevan ka tuney kahan hai khela... Song : Chal akelaa chal akelaa chal akelaa Film : Sambandh (1969) MD : O.P.Nayyar Lyricst : Pradeep Ushnish Basu: The fact that you had put this song in the solo section title threw me a bit Neha> That was the intention. Shalini Razdan and Ketan: Oh...you've given the answer at the beginning of the quiz...now that's called being sneakily nice :-) Thank you ma'am! UVR: Who is the lyricist of this song? It always reminds me of Rabindranath Tagore's "jodi tor daak sune keu naa aashe, tobey aekla cholo re" [If no one harks to your call, walk alone]. Most of the lyrics of the song seems to be "inspired" by Tagore's poem. A lovely song. One of my favourites. :) ------------------------------------------------------------- 6. sang tumhaare do ghadi, beet gaye jo pal... jal banke mere nain mein, aaj hue ojhal... ho..sukh deke dukh de gayi... vo akhiyaan chanchal.... Song : Saarangaa teri yaad mein nain huye bechain Film : Saarangaa (1960) MD : Sardar Malik Lyricist : Bharat Vyas Ambrish and Sharada: Doesn't Bharat Vyas "specialize" in the usage of shuddh Hindi in his lyrics? High quality, no doubt. Makes use of some very rarely used words, from a lyrical standpoint. Is it just me who thinks this way? Nita: Though a Rafi fan, this is one song in which I prefer the Mukesh version to the Rafi version. Though I have heard the Rafi version but once. Balaji and Malini: This is one of those rare cases where an HMV release has paired the two movies based on the lyricist. The other movie on the CD is 'raanii ruupamati'. Sometime last year Ashok had written about the songs from this movie(saara.ngaa) in a Suman thread. Really a great soundtrack. Sadly, the CD is missing the Suman song, which was the focus of Ashok's post. UVR: Again one of my favourite songs. I have'nt heard the Rafi tandem version of it, but Mukesh has done a lovely job of it. Has any RMIMer got a copy of the Rafi version of this song? ------------------------------------------------------------ 7. kabhi yunhi..jab huin..bojhal saansein... bhar aayi baitthe baitthe jab yunhi aankhein... tabhi machalke..pyaar se chalke... chhue koi mujhe par nazar na aaye..nazar na aaye... Song : Kaheen door jab din Dhal jaaye Film : Anand (1970) MD : Salil Chowdhury Lyricist : Yogesh Hema: yeah agreed, Mukesh does have a rare depth here.:) ------------------------------------------------------------- 8. aise veeraane mein ik din..ghut ke mar jaayenge ham... jitna jee chaahe pukaaro..phir nahin aayenge ham... Song : Yeh meraa deewaanaapan hai Film : Yehudi (1958) MD : Shankar-Jaikishan Lyricist : Shailendra Vijay Kumar: Mukesh-SJ-Dilip, unusual combination if ever there was one. I think SJ were the only composers to work with all three Raj-Dev-Dilip Look at following table Raj Kapoor Dev Aanand Dilip Kumar S D Burmon Dil Ki Rani (1948) Vidya (1948) Shabnam (1949) O P Nayyar Do Ustad (1962) CID (1956) Naya Daur (1958) C Ramchandra Sargam (1949) Namuna (1949) Azaad (1955) Anil Biswas Char Dil Char Rahen Jeet (1949) Jwar Bhata (1959) (1944) SJ Barsat (1949) PAtita (1953) Daag (1952) .... One can add to this ... ------------------------------------------------------------- 9. sooraj ko dharti tarse...dharti ko chandrama... paani mein seep jaise pyaasi har aatma... o mitwa re~~ boond chhupi kis baadal mein...koi jaane na... Song : Oho re taal mile nadee ke jal mein Film : Anokhee Raat (1968) MD : Roshan Lyricist : Indeewar ------------------------------------------------------------- 10. kho gayi hain manzilein, mit gaye hain raaste... gardishein hi gardishein, ab hain mere vaaste... ab hain mere vaaste... aur aise mein mujhe..phir bula gaya koi... Song : Jhoomti chalee hawaa yaad aa gayaa koi Film : Sangeet Samraat Taansen (1960) MD : S.N.Tripathi Lyricist : Shailendra UVR: I'm pretty sure this song is in Shivaranjani. Can you check this up, Neha? As far as I know (from different articles on the net) this song is in Sohini. Now it is open to RMIM for discussion. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Snehal B. Song : Jinhein hum bhoolnaa chaahein woh aksar yaad aate hain Film : Aabroo (1972?) MD : Sonik-Omi Lyricist : G.L.Rawail Anup Pandey: During the first line of this clue Mukesh turns too nasal. He sounds so genuine that you neglect the nasal tinge most of the time. ------------------------------------------------------------ 12. ye kaam kamaan bhaNve teri... palakon ke kinaare kajraare.. maathe par sindoori sooraj... honthon pe dehakte angaare.. saaya bhi jo tera pad jaaye... aabaad ho dil ka veeraana.. Neha> Actually I like the song, just the way it is. No one else could have made this song as appealing. ------------------------------------------------------------ 13. This clue has two songs. You can attempt any one or both of these songs. Attempting either or both will bring you only one point:) Anhoni path mein kaante laakh bichhaye.. honi to phir bhi bichhada yaar milaaye.. ye birha ye doori...do pal ki majboori... phir koi dilwaala kaahe ko ghabraaye... dhaara to behti hai...milke rehti hai... behti dhaara ban ja...phir duniya se gol... MD : Daan Singh Lyricist : Gulzar Neha> My mistake, how could I forget "maine tere liye hi saat rang ke"(Anand) and "haal chaal theek thaak hai..."(Mere Apne). With this we end the Solos Section. Now on to the Duets Sec- tion. ------------------------------------------ Hum tum...yug yug se ye geet milan ke gaate rahein hain...gaate rahenge... Duets Section ------------------------------------------ This section presents Mukesh duets. His co-singer statistics are: Asha Bhonsle - 1 Chandrani Mukherjee - 1 Geeta Roy/Dutt - 2 Hamida Bano - 1 Johrabai - 1 Khurshid - 1 Meena Kapoor - 1 Rajkumari - 1 Shamshad Begum - 2 Sudha Malhotra - 1 Suman Kalyanpur - 1 Suraiyya - 1 (You might notice that there are 13 clues and the nos. above add up to 14. That is because one song is a triplet instead of a duet:)) An attempt is made to capture all sorts of moods in these duets. Please note that duet means, a song featuring Mukesh with one or more female singers (for this quiz). I want to stress that Mukesh didn't do well only at sad songs but was very good at light-romantic songs as well. Surely, he was not monotonous. He could blend his voice as needed for cer- tain harkat. If he could evoke pathos through his ringing voice, he was also capable of making your feet tap along. I guess, it goes unnoticed because he had so much power in his singing/voice that listener loses his state of being and finds oneness with song! It's this simplicity in his singing that one thinks as ordinary until one attempts to emulate him. Even with his limited range he was great for as said by Arthur Koestler : "The principal mark of genius is not perfection but originality, the opening of new frontiers." 14. M: Is qadar pyaar se dekho na hamaari jaanib dil agar aur machal jaaye to mushkil hogi F: Tum jahaan meri taraf dekh ke ruk jaaoge vohi manzil meri taqdeer ki manzil hogi Song : phir na kiije merii GustaaK nigaahii kaa gilaa dekhiye aapane phir pyaar se dekhaa mujhako Film : phir subah hogii(1958) Cosinger : Asha Bhosle Music : Khaiyam Lyrics : Sahir Ludhiyanwi Ushnish Basu: Film is based on Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Of course, RK gets the psychological portraiture in CnP changed into a social message! ------------------------------------------------------------ 15. M: Ye chaand, ye sitaare, kehte hain mil ke saare, aaja pyaar karein... F: ye chanda bairi dekhe, aise mein bolo kaise, iqaraar karein... M: dil mein hai kuchh, kuchh kahe zubaan, pyaar yehi hai jaan-e-jaan... tera mera mera tera pyaar hai to, phir kaisa sharmaana... Song : ye mausam ra.ngiin samaa.n Thahar zaraa o jaan-e-jaa teraa meraa meraa teraa pyaar hai to phir kaisaa sharmaanaa Film : Modern Girl(1961) Cosinger : Suman Kalyanpur Music : Ravi Lyrics : Gulshan Baawra ------------------------------------------------------------ 16. Zindagi sirf mohabbat nahi kuchh aur bhi hai... zulf-o-rukhsaar ki jannat nahi kuchh aur bhi hai... bhookh aur pyaas ki maari hui is duniya mein... ishq hi ek hakeekat nahi kuchh aur bhi hai... tuk agar aankh churaao tou ye haq hai tumko... maine tumse hi nahi sab se mohabbat ki hai... Song : tumase hii merii zi.ndagii, meraa bahaar tum apane hii dil se puuch lo, kisakaa ho pyaar tum Film : apanaa ghar(1960) Cosinger : Geeta Dutt Music : Ravi Lyrics : Prem Dhawan Balaji and Malini: Now, here is where we must express our objections. While there was a dreamy quality to her voice and many of her songs are wonderful, calling her the most talented singer is stretching it too far. She wasn't even very versatile. In the typically OPish tunes Asha outperforms her by leaps and bounds, though these were not the only kind Asha excelled Geeta in. Geeta was also nowhere near Lata in terms of talent for the serious songs. And we haven't even mentioned Noorjehan yet. Geeta had her niche, which she was quite good at, and no more. Rather the much maligned Suman was a better singer than Geeta too. ------------------------------------------------------------- 18. F: tumhein kisne sazaa di? M: kya? F: ki raaton ko gino taarein... M: wo zaalim, wo zaalim jiske meethe bol lagte hain bade pyaare... tumehin kisne kaha hai? F: kya~~? (Very sweet) M: mere sapno mein aane ko..mere sapno mein aane ko.. F: tere sapnon mein aate hain...teri kismat jagaane ko... Song : mujhe sach sach bataa do, kyaa ki kab dil me.n samaaye the Film : baaware nain(1950) Cosinger : Rajkumari Music : Roshan Lyrics : Kidar Sharma Hema: The "kya~~" is just too good in this song. The female singer has done a great justice to Geeta Bali's screen presence Balaji and Malini: Each song in this movie is a veritable gem. Roshan probably extracted the best of Rajkumari. She is one of those singers we don't hear much of, but should. ------------------------------------------------------------- 19. F: jee bhar ke pyaar kar le..phir kya ho kaun jaane... Song : badariyaa baras ga_ii us paar li_e kha.Dii hai priit gagariyaa joganiyaa is paar Film : muurti(1945) Cosinger : Khursheed, Hamida Bano Music : Bulo C. Rani Lyrics : Pt. Indra Chandra ------------------------------------------------------------- 21. M: aati hai mere kaanon mein ye kis ki sadaayein.. F: tum dil se khud hi poochh lo ham kyun ye bataayein.. M: yaad aane laga, phir mujhe wo bhoola fasaana.. Song : ab yaad na kar bhuul jaa ai dil Film : anokhaa pyaar(1948) Cosinger : Meena Kapoor/Lata Mangeshkar Music : Anil Biswas Lyrics : Shams Lucknavi ----------------------------------------------------------- 22. apni nazar ka jaadu kya poochhte ho mujh se... dekho jo muskura ke ho jaaye aag paani... Song : laa_ii Kushii kii duniyaa ha.Nsatii hu_ii javaanii Film : vidyaa(1948) Cosinger : Suraiya Music : S.D.Burman Lyrics : Anjum Pilibhiti Balaji and Malini: Wasn't it also the last time for Mukesh to sing for Dev Anand? No. We have Mukesh singing for him the following year a gem of duet in Shayar (1949) with Lata. -------------------------------------------------------------- 23. chaaron taraf toofaan hai bhaari... dil lagi hai aas tumhaari... naav bhanwar mein door kinaara... Song : bhuul ga_e kyo.n deke sahaaraa luutanevaale chain hamaaraa Film : anokhii adaa(1948) Cosinger : Shamshad Begum Music : Naushad Lyrics : Shakeel Badayuni Balaji and Malini: There are a couple of fairly known duets in 'melaa'. One of them could have been used here. Could have been, but didn't. Mela duets are not among my favourites. I like them but won't run after them. The order in which I like them is: Aai Sawan Rut Aai, Mera Dil Todne Waale, Main Bhanwara Tu Hai Gul. Another thing is that Mela is one film which features in every third RJGK/Chitrahar. I didn't want to repeat that. --------------------------------------------------------------- 24. M: yaad aa ke na rasta rok mera, mujhe jaane de...mujhe jaane de... F: ek baar laut ke aa thaam le aa kar meraa haath re... Song : qismat me.n bichha.Danaa thaa hu_ii kyuu.N unase mulaaqaat re Film : shabanam (1949) Cosinger : Geeta Roy Music : S.D.Burman Lyrics : Qamar Jalalabadi ------------------------------------------------------------ 25. M: mere aangan mein tu aisi barsi hai ke jaise dharti pe ye kaali niraali ghata rimjhim barse... F: mera dil kehta hai main teri hun saiyyan aise lag jaaon ke jaise nadi ka milan ho saagar se M: waada kiya tou karke nibhaana... phool banke muskurana meri raah mein... Song : o re sajanavaa, saagar me.n kyuu.N aate hai.n tuufan Film : pyaasii nadii (1973) Cosinger : Chandrani Mukherjee Music : Ratnadeep Hemraj Lyrics : Neeraj and Prince: Question - What made you choose this song ? Do you think it would have ever included in RJGKs otherwise ? It's quite OK song. Ketan: R. Hemraj has a song in the movie Insaan aur Insaan, an early 70s' film, sung by Geeta Dutt. The song is "Lat uljhi hai suljha de more balma" with lyrics by Tajdar Taj. It's available on the 4 pack Geeta Dutt Golden Collection. Ushnish Basu: How many did get this song?! Three teams. ------------------------------------------------------------ 26. aaye bhi wo gaye bhi...aaye bhi wo gaye bhi mere dil ki reh gayi dil mein..na ki jeebhar ke batiyaan guzaari ro ro ke ratiyaan... ab jiya pukaare ab jiya pukaare aaja aaja do naina bhar gaye... One more duet picturised on Raj Kapoor. A 1949 film starring Raj, Rehana and Nigar, this song has him complaining about ways of the world where you meet people who you think are dear to you but in reality are farebi. Co-singer is Shamshad and lyrics by D. N. Modhak. A gem by a great composer of 1940s, who is perhaps best known for his use of Saigal and Khurshid for Bhakta Surdas(1939). Who can forget "Nain Heen Ko Raah Dikha Prabhu"? This composer has worked with Lata for only one film(not this one). Name the film. This answer carries additional point.
